Rafia Chic's beautiful handmade shoes were introduced to the Sydney market in the Summer of 2010.
Trish Barnes and Lindy Rochester, who together started Rafia Chic, had been travelling overseas when they were struck by the simple beauty of some of the artisan rafia work done in northern Africa.
With backgrounds in retail, fashion design and marketing, Trish and Lindy both felt that a finely woven rafia shoe was the perfect fit for the contemporary chic style that they both love.
The rafia fibres mould to the foot, but unlike leather, they don't stretch.
